Chitwan National Park and Bardia National Park that offering a rare opportunity to photograph a wide range of species across diverse lowland ecosystems.
From dense subtropical forests and riverine wetlands to open grasslands, this tour is designed to capture Nepal’s most iconic wildlife. In Chitwan, you will have excellent opportunities to photograph one-horned rhinoceroses and rich birdlife, while Bardia offers one of the best chances in Nepal to encounter and photograph wild Bengal tigers in a more remote and pristine environment.
Carefully scheduled for May, when wildlife activity is high and visibility improves, this tour provides ideal conditions for photography. With guidance on composition, timing, and field techniques, it is suitable for both experienced photographers and those looking to build a strong wildlife portfolio.
Tour Timeline:
May 16: Departure from Hong Kong
May 17: Arrival in Kathmandu and start of the tour (Arrival in Kathmandu and meet the group. Transfer to Chitwan National Park by domestic flight and short drive.
Afternoon at leisure with optional sunset shooting along the river or surrounding areas.)
May 18: Chitwan National Park and Wetland Photography (optional) Morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Chitwan National Park. Primary subjects include one-horned rhinoceroses, deer species, crocodiles, and a wide range of birdlife. Photography sessions focus on early morning and late afternoon light.
May 19: Chitwan National Park Morning and midday safari inside Chitwan National Park, focusing on general wildlife and environmental scenes.
In the late afternoon and evening, move to nearby village and buffer zone areas for rhino-in-town photography, when rhinos regularly enter human settlements.
May 20: Chitwan National Park & Rhino Observation Morning safari session in the park to continue wildlife photography and refine compositions. Afternoon rest and preparation. Late afternoon and evening dedicated again to rhino-in-town photography, maximizing chances for strong light and unique moments.
May 21: Bardia National Park Travel from Chitwan to Bardia National Park via domestic flight and ground transfer. Afternoon rest or optional short photography session near lodge surroundings.
May 22: Bardia National Park Full-day safari focused on tracking Bengal tigers.
Additional subjects include elephants, deer species, and birdlife. Sessions scheduled around peak activity periods in the morning and late afternoon.
May 23: Bardia to Kathmandu & Everest Scenic Flight Morning safari for final wildlife opportunities in Bardia.
Transfer back to Kathmandu by domestic flight.
Scenic mountain flight arranged from Kathmandu, offering aerial views of the Himalayas and Mount Everest. (Please note that the Everest scenic flight is subject to weather conditions. In the event that the flight cannot operate due to weather, 60% of the flight cost will be refunded.)
